BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) merupakan ciri khas Windows dalam menampilkan error yang fatal. Ini bisa datang begitu saja, dan umumnya dikarenakan adanya konflik atau kerusakan pada hardware. Secara umum ada beberapa tips yang bisa anda lakukan untuk mengetahui penyebab dan menentukan cara memperbaikinya.
Cek kabel yang terpasang dalam komputer. Mau tidak mau kadang kabel – kabel yang ada bisa kendor sendiri, ini bisa menyebabkan masalah saat komunikasi antar perangkat keras.
Bersihkan komputer, karena debu yang berkumpul bisa menyebabkan peredaran udara terhambat dan ini bisa meningkatkan suhu komputer.
Tingginya temperatur hardware bisa membuat crash dan ini tidak baik kalau dibiarkan karena lama – kelamaan akan merusak ketahanan hardware. Anda bisa menggunakan software seperti Speccy untuk melihat suhu seluruh perangkat yang terpasang di komputer.
Lepas dan pasang beberapa komponen komputer kemudian nyalakan kembali, kalau tidak muncul masalahnya berarti komponen yang dilepas lah penyebabnya. Ini bisa dimulai dari modul RAM, Harddisk, Graphic Card, Power Supply dan sebagainya.
Bersihkan driver hardware yang terinstall dalam komputer anda, kalau tidak mau repot gunakan Driver Sweeper untuk menghapus driver secara massal.
Saya sarankan anda mendiagnosa terlebih dahulu apa yang sedang anda lakukan di komputer saat terjadinya BSoD, ini sangat berhubungan terhadap penyebab dan cara mengatasinya. Kalau anda tidak sempat membaca pesan kesalahan yang ditampilkan maka silahkan gunakan program BlueScreenView untuk membaca file dump Windows dan mencari tahu mengenai kode errornya.
Anda tidak bisa booting ke dalam Windows secara normal? Maka gunakanlah Safe Mode untuk masuk ke Windows, tekan F8 sebelum loading Windows dan kemudian pilih Safe Mode. Kemudian jalankan program BlueScreenView. Oh ya, kalau pada saat anda masuk ke Windows melalui Safe Mode tidak terjadi BSoD maka besar kemungkinan masalah terjadi pada driver yang terinstall. Tinggal menentukan driver hardware mana yang bermasalah, ini bisa dilihat dari hasil membuka file dump Windows dan memeriksa file mana yang dipanggil saat terjadinya error.

Saya pakai windows 7 64bit, awalnya BOSD muncul BUGCODE_USB_DRIVERS, entah kenapa. Setelah restart lagi muncul kembali BUGCODE_USB_DRIVERS. Saya akhirnya instal ulang untuk memangkas waktu, saat instalasi Win 7 di COMPELTING INSTALLATION, eh muncul lagi BSOD nya 0x000000FE BUGCODE_USB_DRIVERS. Apakah ini hardware USB nya bermasalah? Sudah saya reset CMOS nya, tapi masih muncul. laptop merek HP 14. Trims
